“It’s Past Time For The Fremont County Commissioners to Pass A Bear-Resistant Container Ordinance.”

The City of Island Park has already passed and implemented such an ordinance. Owners of transient rentals are already required to provide bear-proof garbage containers to their clients. It is irresponsible not to pass this ordinance now. Responsible citizens and organizations have already provided all the language needed for the ordinance. The work is done and action is now needed. The ordinance could be implemented over multiple years, and grants could be used to offset the costs for those needing help purchasing a container. Let’s help protect these majestic animals.
